Broken and/or chipped teeth are unsightly, painful and nerve-wracking.  However, there is no need to panic after you suffer a broken or chipped tooth.  Composite bonding rectifies chipped, cracked, gapped, misshaped, discolored and decayed teeth.  Our Carol Stream, IL dentist’s bonding has the potential to preserve your broken or chipped teeth for upwards of an entire decade.  The tooth is roughened and exposed to a liquid for conditioning.  Putty is added to the tooth, carefully molded and subsequently smoothed.  The dentist then uses an ultraviolet light to ensure the composite hardens as desired.  Once the bonding dries, it is carefully shaped then polished so it looks similar to the rest of the teeth in your mouth.
