Full Mouth Reconstruction | John E. Sullivan DDS

Some patients have problems affecting numerous teeth rather than one isolated area.

Severe wear, missing teeth, fractured teeth, extensive decay, failing restorations, bite problems, or combinations of these conditions may require a comprehensive approach.

A full mouth reconstruction involves coordinating multiple dental procedures into an overall treatment plan designed to restore health, function, stability, and appearance.

At John E. Sullivan DDS, P.C., treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation.

Depending upon the situation, this may involve:

  • Detailed examination
  • Dental photographs
  • Digital radiographs
  • 3D imaging when indicated
  • Impressions or digital scans
  • Evaluation of the bite
  • Periodontal assessment
  • Evaluation of the jaw joints
  • Review of existing restorations

Treatment may involve combinations of crowns, bridges, fillings, dental implants, periodontal treatment, dentures, endodontic treatment, or other procedures.

Importantly, full-mouth treatment does not automatically mean every tooth requires a crown.

Our approach is to determine what actually needs treatment and to preserve healthy tooth structure whenever possible.

Complex cases may be completed in phases so disease is controlled first, followed by stabilization and definitive reconstruction.

The objective is not simply to make the teeth look different. It is to create a treatment plan in which function, biology, structural durability, maintainability, and appearance are considered together.
